In attempting to understand the following prophetic words – “the doors will close”, that were shared with me, I was given two scriptures
- “a seared conscience” (kartaxio suneidesis) (Tim 4:1-2)
- “God gave them over” (paradidomi) (Rom 1:24-28 Acts 7:42)
I subsequently asked the Lord for the meaning of the words and the application
I believe that a Christian’s conscience (suneidesis) becomes seared (kartaxio), cauterised or deceived when they
- Pay heed to false spirits and false doctrines
- Continually ignore the promptings of the Lord/Holy Spirit directly or through God’s people
- “Mix spirits” (Derek Prince 2008)
- Fail to test the spirits
If Christians continue along this path I believe that eventually God can “give them over” (paradidomi) or (in legal parlance) “remand them in custody pending judgement”. While ‘in custody’ God removes the constraints of evil and abandons them to
- Wrong living/loving/thinking (Rom 1:24-28),
- Wrong worship (Acts 7:42)
- A reprobate mind (adokimon) that is void of discernment or judgement
I believe that the “door closing” is synonymous, in this case, with being “given over” or “placed in custody”.
