Going Home for an “active” Rest

[from Chris]

  • A picture of you coming from the heat into the cold (a literal as well as a figurative meaning)
  • Amid this big change the Lord wants to remind you that he is the same “yesterday, today and for ever”
  • Jesus is the one thing that will not change when you return
  • The Lord has things to teach and show you – that is why he is bringing you home
  • There will be rest and a place in Him that he wants to show you
  • He will still provide for you and meet your needs. He loves and cares for you and sees the trust you have in Him.

[from Steve]

You have something new to do. God can not show you what it is in Nepal. He wants to open your mind to a work that you never thought God would lead you into

[Scriptures]

Exodus 14:14 (New International Version)

14 The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Exodus 15:26-27 (New International Version)

26 He said, “If you listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.”  27 Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there near the water.

[from Graham]

Your “rest” will be an active rest (not putting your feet up)
