Pastors Jottings

A and B have decided after 7.5 years at the church, to move on. They are very sad as the reasons are very particular.

They feel that the leaders are leading the church into apostasy (when God’s people abandon the faith) through the books they have chosen for the congregation to study, and the people we have connected with as a church.

A believes God has called him to be a mouthpiece to warn the church, and that the leaders are denying him the opportunity to use this gift.

They believe the way the church operates its membership is coercive, manipulative and controlling, and they do feel the leaders either do not take seriously the concerns expressed by the congregation or are psychologically and emotionally unable to.

They felt a particular lack of pastoral care in 2008 while going through some very particular challenges personally.

A expressed his concerns to the elders and also to the Oversight while they were with us for some meetings. We have given them prayerful consideration, and in some cases have apologised for any short comings on our part. We and the afore mentioned oversight, to whom we make ourselves accountable, believe we have no case to answer in leading the church away from the true faith in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We love our brother and sister, and are deeply saddened by their decision to leave.
